The Hoppings will be back on Newcastle’s famous Town Moor from June 20 to 29 with more than 400 attractions
Hang onto your hats, The Hoppings will bringing all the fun of the fair – and more – when it opens in Newcastle on Friday for 10 colourful, noisy and non-stop days of action. The annual tradition, a city favourite, always brings crowds flocking to the Town Moor and this year it promises to be a blast with enough thrilling rides in store to satisfy any adrenaline junkie.
Among them is the newcomer Drop Tower which, as is the largest free-fall tower in the world and will soon have people plummeting to earth at a 4.5g drop. In total, The Hoppings will have more than 400 attractions and this wide range of treats will include plenty children’s rides too, as well as more sedate traditional favourites such as the carousel, plus fairground stalls and games.
There also will be a Hoppings Village – the new name given to an area which covers the additions of recent years: Feast Street, with all the food vendors; the Live Lounge music stage and Kids’ Club. Prices – organisers say the rides will be priced individually and most will range from £1.50 to £4, with a few specialist rides costing up to £10 – and a £15 charge for the reverse bungee which is for two people.
