Car parking charges for the 2024 Hoppings fun fair on Newcastle’s town moor are frozen. Find out the costs if you’re taking a car, motorcycle, caravan, Winnebago or other vehicle to the fun fair.

In recent years those taking a vehicle to the annual extravaganza have been asked to shell out £5 on the day or £4 if pre-booked online. There’s no change this year. Book car parking online on the day before at the latest

On-site parking can be pre-booked on the Car Park Booking page of the Hoppings website. Those who pre-book are entered into a daily draw to win a VIP family pass. This allows complimentary use of all attractions for you and 3 friends.

Parking is available at the Grandstand Road entrance, use NE2 3NH for your Sat Nav. The car park will be clearly signposted as you approach.

Organisers are hoping that many will opt to use public transport and travel by bus or Metro to the site to help reduce traffic congestion and queuing as well as emissions. To this end the fair has teamed up with public transport giant Arriva to encourage use of their lovely teal-coloured transportation devices.

A range of regular and express services stop at the Hoppings entrance on Forsyth Road in Newcastle.

There’s not too long to wait now until thousands flock to the fair to thrill to the effects of white-knuckle rides.
