The Hoppings returns to Newcastle’s Town Moor on Friday June 16 to Sunday June 25 when visitors will be hoping for good weather and not the traditional ‘mixed bag’.

The Town Moor is on the Great North Road and not too far a walk from both Haymarket and West Jesmond Metro stations.

There are bus stops right outside the Town Moor fence and parking is available on site.

What can I expect from the Hoppings?

There are usually a range of white-knuckle rides to delight thrill seekers with the likes of Matterhorn, Extreme, Runaway Train and Helter Skelter all proving popular. Expect a similar mix of these and other family favourites with rides for children, side shows and fortune-telling mystics.

What happened in 2013?

The historic event was cancelled in 2013 after terrible weather and a dispute between the Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain and the Freemen of the City.

But the Hoppings returned in 2014 after an agreement was reached about rent and pitch terms.
