From Wednesday 22 June, phone calls from the public to Newcastle City Council’s library service will be dealt with by the council’s Contact Centre.

Customers with a library enquiry can continue to phone the library number on 0191 277 4100, where they will be asked if they would like to know library opening times or hold to be connected to an operator.

Alternatively, customers can ring 0191 278 7878 and request ‘libraries’.

The service will revert back to City Library when the Contact Centre is closed on evenings and weekends.
