The open-air concert will be held on Sunday (3 July) in South Marine Park in South Shields between 7pm and 9pm.

South Tyneside Orchestra will provide the music while special guest soloist Bibi Heal will put her own soprano spin on both classical and contemporary songs.

The free event, which is organised by South Tyneside Council and forms part of this year’s South Tyneside Festival, will feature rousing renditions of the National Anthem, Land of Hope and Glory, Rule Britannia and Jerusalem.

Councillor Alan Kerr, Deputy Leader with responsibility for Leisure and Culture, said: “The Proms in the Park is always a key highlight of our Summer Festival.

“The open-air concert is an opportunity to hear – and join in – with new performances of well-loved songs. I would encourage people to come along and see for themselves just why this event is such a popular one.”
